Chris Woods joined the Plaid team by serving as a consultant focusing on program development and facilitation. He provides knowledge and experience specializing in individual leadership development and fraternal management. Chris’ true passion lies in working with young people in their pursuit of gaining real world experiences and understanding their own personal abilities. Chris’ talents concentrate on motivating and encouraging the inner leader hidden within an individual’s personality, and his ability to influence positive action make his services correspond directly with Plaid’s mission.
Chris graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Marketing, and completed his M.A. in Corporate Communication from Austin Peay State University. After graduating from WKU in 2007, he moved home to Louisville and served as a marketing consultant for Maker’s Mark Bourbon and a startup tourism company to enhance the country’s only native spirit. In January of 2009, Chris accepted a position with his national fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order. Over the next few years he served as an assistant to the executive director and Associate Director for Chapter Development specializing in expansion and recruitment. During his time at the Kappa Alpha Order National Office, he helped organize, facilitated and executed several conferences and leadership programs.
In addition, Chris has continuously enhanced the fraternal movement by supporting the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) by serving as a facilitator for the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI) and Futures Quest. Chris continues to volunteer for Kappa Alpha Order by serving as his chapter’s alumnus advisor, as well as Deputy Province Commander of Academic Affairs for the state of Kentucky. His graduate research continues to explore the depth of authentic leadership development, providing him with a better comprehension and appreciation for Plaid’s ACE program.
