The Research Journal of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors

John Creek, GA. (December 17, 2019)  – Johns Creek, GA. (December 17, 2019) – Plaid LLC, an organization that specializes in personal and organizational development, is thrilled that its work was recognized by the Association for Fraternity and Sorority Advisers (AFA) with the Dr. Charles Eberly Oracle Award for outstanding written contributions to its research journal, The Oracle.  Under the direction of Plaid partner, Dr. Dawn Wiese along with Drs. Gabriel Serna of Michigan State University, and Stephen Simo of the University of Rhode Island, the recently published article “Needs and Stress in Fraternity/Sorority Life: Evidence of Social & Behavioral Differences Among Sorority & Fraternity Members” received recognition for outstanding achievement in evidence-based research.

The Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors recognizes outstanding submissions that demonstrate evidence-based research that include relevant and practical ideas to Association members and support the advancement of research within the fraternal movement.

This study, based on Plaid’s work with undergraduate students, explores those who identify as fraternity and sorority members and how they differ in both processing and receiving information.  The research allows those who work with fraternity and sorority members to approach educational interventions differently based on measured social and behavioral differences.

“Evidence-based research is at the core of Plaid’s work, and we appreciate AFA recognizing this work,” says Wilson Wong President of Plaid, LLC.
